Lego Jesus

They say anyone can make practically anything given enough Lego bricks. Anyone who is even thinking of disputing this should think again. Take a look at this awesome Lego creation – a statue of Jesus.

This awesome masterpiece is good enough to match any other work created by the greats, don’t you think? The Lego statue of Jesus is the handiwork of 40 volunteers who worked for a total of 18 months. And, can anyone guess how many Lego pieces were used for this statue? Oh, just 30,000. All of the pieces were donated to the church. You can just imagine the heaps of odd pieces of Lego lying around for more than a year – Lego lover’s heaven!

Unveiled on Easter Sunday in a Stockholm church, the 6-foot statue drew much appreciation from the crowd of about 400 parishioners. It is actually a replica of a “real” statue that can be found in Copenhagen. Looking at the statue, it appears to have a stone-like characteristic, doesn’t it? It’s perfect to match the actual statue, Christus. The inside of the statue is composed of Lego pieces of various colors, though. After all, you can’t expect all donated pieces to be stone-colored, can you?

I suppose that some people might have less than enthusiastic reactions to this one-of-a-kind Lego creation, but I really think it’s pretty cool of the church to have undertaken the project. The people behind the statue shows that they can keep up with the times while sticking to their belief. Pretty cool, actually.
