Meet the Moleskine SMS System

Moleskine SMS System

Did you ever get your hands on some of those
LEGO Moleskine notebooks? If that didn’t get you excited (or at the very least amuse you), here’s another stunt by the “specialty” notebook maker that might just catch your attention.

Do you remember the days in school when you would write notes on real paper and make airplanes out of them? I am sure you have at least one good story to tell about your paper airplane throwing adventures in class. Moleskine has taken that classic student activity and turned it into something of a blend of old and new.

Enter the Moleskine SMS system. It’s text messaging but with an analog component.

The new limited edition Moleskine notebook is just like the countless other Moleskines you can find out there, except that it has the additional design of being able to launch analog text messages. The Moleskine SMS system comes with pre-printed text messages which you can tear off. The messages include “I love you” and “The answer is…”

You then need to fold the paper in four. This folded message can then be loaded onto the “slingshot” attached to the notebook cover. To give the message sender an idea of how far the message will go, the launching pad has three notches indicating the range of the message.

See the Moleskine SMS System in action.

I have to admit that I find LEGO Moleskine notebooks cool, but this is bordering on lame. Give me the good old paper airplanes. I do not need to pay more for analog messaging!
