NEC announces the US110 - a really tiny computer

Before the all of this multi-core processor madness begun, we saw the birth of some of the smallest computers ever like Sony’s ultra thin Vaio X505 laptop and the popular Apple Mac Mini. And to be honest I kind of miss those days, rather than the bulky gadgets we have today like (most of) Nokia’s N series phones or most PDAs.

Thankfully, it appears that there is still hope for small-form lovers like myself, for NEC has just announced what is possibly one of the smallest computers I’ve ever seen, the US110.

Right now we only know that it weighs 350g, has the following dimensions: 150x94x30.4mm, and costs €290/$412 and runs Windows CE, but I’m certain that the inner-hacker in all of us could surely find some way to put Linux in this instead.

It might not be the fastest or best-looking small form computer currently in the market, but hey, at least this one fits in my pockets, a trend that some cellphones go against.
