New DVD Releases to Pick Up This Month - June 2017

DVDs, just like CDs and video tapes before them, are collectibles for many people. The presence of Blu-Ray discs and collectible DVDs keeps the market excited. We also get more content in the DVD versions of popular movies, including behind-the-scene clips, deleted scenes and commentaries.It’s always nice to take a look at the upcoming DVD releases, and that is exactly what we are going to do in this article. Here are some great new DVDs you can add to your collection this month.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Saga

Rogue One: A Star Wars Saga was a big hit at the Box Office, so it is not surprising to find a lot of people – particularly Star Wars fans – are lining up for the DVD version. There were rumors regarding an alternative ending being included in the DVD version of the movie, along with some deleted scenes that fans have never seen before. It is safe to say that the DVD was among the most highly anticipated.

It finally came out on April 4th and sales began to create headlines. This is a future classic that definitely belongs in most DVD collections. Rogue One’s DVD version also comes in special sets for fans, but the original DVD version alone is superb in terms of production quality.

Sources from top names in the DVD production industry such as Copycats Media said that new technologies allow DVDs to be produced better and faster without sacrificing the quality in general. There are more finishing options for studios to choose from and costs are generally lower; the latter means we might see a lot of special versions (with collectible pins or other items) being introduced more frequently.

La La Land

The movie La La Land may not won the Oscar for best movie, but it is a stunning movie nonetheless. It has all the marks of a future classic, pairing Emma Stone with Ryan Gosling in an epic musical. The DVD version of this movie was released on April 25th and it should start hitting your local and online retailers this week.

There’s a Blu-Ray version with extra content too. if you have a Blu-Ray player, then this is definitely the version to get. It has a lot of special features, including Another Day of Sun: They Closed Down a Freeway and a special audio commentary from composer Justin Hurwitz.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is not a direct prequel to the Harry Potter series, but it is set in the same magical world. In fact, a number of characters that appeared in Harry Potter also appear in this movie and its two upcoming sequels. Yes, there will be sequels that follow the journey of Newt Scamander further.

The sequel won’t be out for another year, but there’s a special Blu-Ray set with a Niffler figurine currently available on the market. This set costs slightly more than the original, but it is a set worth having. The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find
