Nokia N800's successor revealed?
Now that the iPhone is out, and is selling as well as people expected it to, cellphone companies like Nokia aren’t wasting any time in trying to bring out new similar devices to compete with them. The first of these devices, is this unnamed one, which appears to be the successor to the N800 internet tablet, which recently received Skype support.
The iPhone is a cellphone, with excellent media and internet functions, the N800’s philosophy isn’t that different. But since one of the biggest complaints about the iPhone, is it’s “software keyboard”, Nokia have decided to include a dedicated one to this device. There is certainly a market for this device, otherwise they wouldn’t be supporting this type of platform, but that market doesn’t include me in it.
At the moment, I think that the biggest gap between cellphones and the iPhone is not the hardware, but the software. I’d rather seem improvements on how we interact with the device visually, then on how we can input data.
