Redesigning the Laptop
Eris has a problem. A slight one, but one that bugs many people including myself. She doesn’t like the current design of laptops. I have owned 2 laptops in the past myself and never got into the flow of using them on a consistent basis to justify the cost (if those damn G5 Powerbooks would’ve came out today then this would be a different introduction).
Instead of merely complaining about what is wrong with the modern laptop she decides to breakdown what would make a great laptop for her. A couple of her suggestions seem to fit well with the Tablet PC concept.
But, if the laptop could just fit my lifestyle a little more, I would invest in one. And, this isn?t just about the laptop, this is about how a lot of our shiny gadgets through time have never quite taken that final step into really understanding how humans are going to want to interact with it. Our tools use us and it shouldn?t be that way.
