Samsung P520 -the first of many "iPhone" inspired phones to come
First off, let me say that I don’t think it’s fair to call this phone, or any other phone with a touchscreen a “rip off” of the iPhone. Apple didn’t invent the touch screen, they just made it popular. Obviously, the device has been inspired by the demand for the iPhone, but from what I can tell, it’s a vastly different device.
First, it lacks the iPhone UI, which – let’s face it – is the primary selling point of the iPhone. This Samsung model will feature the web, email, and connect through EDGE or Wi-Fi, but will also add unlicensed mobile access. It will feature 3 megapixel camera, and only 50 Mbs of storage. It will, however, have a microSD slot for expandability.

Touchscreen phones are going to be very popular over the next few years, so get used to seeing them. It will be interesting to see how they evolve during that time. Everytime I look at my iPhone I feel like I’m holding a Padd from Star Trek, and I’m sure with the industry behind the touchscreen, that may be just where we’re headed.
