San Diego Comic-Con Cosplay Review 2016
It’s summertime in San Diego and you know what that means – San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing! How can one tell? Well, the convention hall, the hotels, and the streets are filled with people in costume, cosplaying as their favorite characters from comics, movies, television, video games, and just about anything you can think of. Some even mash up characters and genres in ways we could have never imagined on our own.
It’s no surprise that San Diego Comic-Con is home to some of the most creative people on earth when you see a an armored Ronald McDonald wielding a Happy Meal shaped Mjolnir as a weapon. We spent all week roaming the halls of San Diego Comic-Con and up and down every street to find some of the best cosplay at the show. No matter what you’re into, whether it’s Star Wars, Marvel and DC Comics, Rick and Morty, Pokemon, the new Ghostbusters, or even classic characters like the Skipper and Gilligan from Gilligan’s Island (ask your parents, kids), it’s almost impossible to not be surprised around every corner at Comic-Con. Sure, there were the old standards like Spider-Man, Harley Quinn, and more Deadpools than you can shake a security-checked sword at, but what matters is that people show up to express their passion for the things they love most.
We’ve collected a series of two dozen of our favorite cosplayers from the biggest comic-con on the planet and here’s your chance to feel like you were there among the sights, sounds, and smells of 130,000 people taking over a city in the name of geekhood.
