Guess What Movie Sony's Working On? Hint: Sonic...

I bet Whovians immediately thought “sonic screwdriver”! Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Doctor Who whatsoever – unless we find him playing Sonic the Hedgehog at some point.

The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Sony is working on a movie adaptation of the popular Sega game, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sony is not doing it all on its own, but is partnering up with Marza Animation Planet, a division of the Sega Sammy Group based in Japan. The Sonic the Hedgehog movie is going to be a mixture of computer animation and live action.

Key people involved are writers Evan Susser and Van Robichaux, alongside Toby Ascher as executive producer.

We’ve all enjoyed the antics of Sonic, the fastest hedgehog on earth, and barring any “glitches” in the screenplay, the movie ought to be, at the very least, enjoyable.

How do you feel about Sonic the Hedgehog going to the big screen?
