Sony announce their cheapest laptop ever
Ah Sony… it seems like it was yesterday that all of your laptops were priced at $200 or more than all of the competitor’s equivalent. And as I type this on a 2 year old Sony Vaio laptop, I have to say that I don’t regret having shelled out those extra bucks, for this laptop has proved to a very reliable companion ever since it’s initial hiccup with the heatsink.
But today Sony surprised everyone by announcing their new NR series which will be priced at about $750 for the cheapest model. And you don’t even have to sacrifice in terms of “style”, because it’s one of the nicest laptops Sony has ever designed.
These laptops will all sport Core 2 Duo Processors, Windows Vista Premium, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g card and a double-layer DVD burner.
Not too shabby if you ask me. If it’s ram and performance is any good, this might just be the best Windows-equivalent alternative to purchasing a Macbook.
