Sony To Begin Haulting CRT Production

This article at Forbes highlights the fact that Sony will soon start shutting down some of its CRT production facilities, concentrating more on LCD and Flat Screen TVs.

Under the plant closure program, Sony will shut down some of its CRT television assembly factories by March 2008 in order to shift its focus to the flat-screen TV business.

This is related to TVs, but got me thinking about computer monitors. How many people are still using CRTs? Do new computers (aside from those HP units you see in Wal-Mart) ship with CRTs anymore? You can get a 17″ flat-panel as a free add-on at Dell most times, and even to buy one seperately is not a big cost.
