Okay, I will admit and be honest, this trailer feels a little weird and tasteless. What I mean is, a few weeks ago the young actor who plays Chekov in the reboots was crushed to death by his own car, and they release a new trailer that doesn’t show a single Chekov scene? I mean, maybe they thought it would be tasteless or is too soon, but too soon for what? If this ends up being one of the kid’s final performances, at least highlight that for some fans in the new commercial. Show us the dude smiling, remind us that there is a place in the universe where he still exists.
I know, small gripe, but come on. I cannot be the only person thinking it. This poor dude just died and they release a trailer called Unity, which implies a unity between everyone, yet they don’t even show him. Maybe they should have titled it differently.
Instead of Unity, perhaps, “shots of everyone BUT Chekov” seems like it would have at least been a bit more honest of a title. You cannot unite a front if someone is missing. That is not unity. And something is clearly missing from this trailer.
Or should I say, some one.
Sorry, his death just really messed me up, seemed so senseless. The movie looks good. Just a lot to process. R.I.P. Chekov.
Theme song? Maybe not.
