Storm Troopers Redux
The Star Wars Stormtrooper is an iconic figure known the world round. I don’t know too many people who couldn’t identify the white and black armored figure, and he’s one of my personal favorites. There have been quite a few different variations on the character over the years, but now there are a few more out in the wild.
The 501st Legion is a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who all have and wear costumes from the Star Wars series, particularly those from the empire. Everything from Darth Vader, the Royal Guards and even a few Galactic Marines all make appearances in the group, and they’ve been going strong for quite a long time now. Recently, they decided to put together a charity event for the Make a Wish Foundation, so they came up with a creative way to raise some cash. They have designers create their own helmets, then they get auctioned off for charity. Well, at least that’s how I’m assuming they do it, since that’s not clear on the TK Project site. They’ve gotten some big names involved, and some really cool helmets have come out of the project.
Like what you ask? Well there’s the one painted by Jesse James pictured above, then a model by Seth Green and the Robot chicken crew. But my favorite is the Steampunk model done recently, which just blows my mind. Want to see it? Of course you do. Hit the jump for more Stormtroopers doing their thing.
