Tachikoma Robot hands-on report

Yesterday’s article about the Ghost in the Shell Tachikoma Robot computer pet raised the interest of some of our readers. Although the concept of your very own remote-controlled Robot from a popular Anime might entice a lot of people, today I read a hands-on experience with the device, so I figured it would be best give you some more details.

First of all, the Tachikoma doesn’t crawl around. It moves it’s legs, arms and head a bit, but that’s it. If you were hoping on pulling off some of the more simple moves that the Tachikoma do in the series, you might be a bit disappointed.

On the computer you will be able to control it a little, and tell it to do things like opening applications, or read your e-mails (which should be amusing). Still no word on the price, but still, even if it’s for the quality of the model alone, which is about 60% metal, I still find this a nice figure to purchase.
