Takeshi Iizuka talks about Nights' sequel

Nights into Dreams was one of the best games ever created for Sega’s ill-fated Sega Saturn. It was even recognized by gaming legend Miyamoto who said it was the game he wished he had created. And now, after more than a decade of wait, it is finally seeing a sequel on the Nintendo Wii.

The game’s producer, Takeshi Iizuka, recently revealed some details a few details about the game’s design and development and seized the opportunity to thank all of the fans of the original game:

For those loyal fans that have waiting 11 years for NiGHTS to return, I felt the need to keep the game concept fundamentally the same as the original so that it would be a reminiscent return to their past NiGHTS experience. This way, I could extend my thanks and appreciation for all those fans that waiting all this time for the sequel. To them, I want to say “Thank You” for without their support this project would not be possible.

I for one am very happy that the title is getting revived for a popular console so it may meet a greater audience. Heck, I’m just happy that I’ll be able to play it again, thank you Sega!
