The Creepiest Thing You'll See All Day
A few weeks ago, I showed you 33 examples of “untooned” cartoon characters. That is, what your favorite cartoon peeps like Homer Simpson, Charlie Brown, and Bugs Bunny would look like if they existed in the real world, with human skin, actual fur, etc.
Today, a tremendously talented artist who works for Spanish visual effects house Plan 9 FX, unveiled a silicon bust he created, showing with extraordinary realism what a certain Muppet character would look like if it were human. He doesn’t tell you who his bust is supposed to be, but he doesn’t have to.
“Nacho,” the username of the artist in question, created this humanesque bust of Sesame Street‘s Bert, and then photographed it from multiple angles so you can truly appreciate his work. Somehow, he manages to take a character every child loves and turn him into the most disturbing human of all time.
Seriously, I can’t show my 3-year-old or my 1-year-old these pictures. They’d have nightmares! They’d never want to watch Sesame Street again.
As appalled as I am by human Bert’s wildly unsettling countenance, I can’t help but be impressed by the brilliance of Nacho’s work. Bravo.
I wonder if he’ll do Ernie, too.
