The Simpsons Pay Tribute to Studio Ghibli

January 11, 2014 by Kristine Cruz 1 Comment

If you’re thinking this clip is another case of Homer Simpson ‘Doh!’ing his way through another hackneyed bit of pop culture, then I’m proud to say you’re wrong. The January 12, 2014 episode of The Simpsons features a short trip through the best works of Studio Ghibli. Fans of the film studio will be delighted to know that The Simpsons’ tribute is touching and plays all the right notes--and if you listen closely, it literally plays the right notes with the way the spirit of Joe Hisaishi’s music is captured.
