The Mac Mini PC
I am sure most of you remember the online hoax someone played last year when they pretended to gut a brand new G5 and replace its internal workings with PC parts.
Well, this time it is not hoax. Screensavers co-host Kevin Rose actually gutted a Mac Mini and installed a PC in it using various parts which he lists on his site. This is just horrendous. He was basically trying to create the fastest PC possible using the size constraints of the Mac Mini.
I think he was able to get a 1ghz processor in there, which I am sure is probably about half as fast as the 1.25ghz G4 that he took out.
Also, because the heatsink took up so much room, he couldn’t fit a CD-Rom in there (not that there is probably one out that would fit). I am sure the computer would probably fry itself in a matter of days because of poor air circulation.
