This Will Melt Your Brain

Some people build amazing things with LEGO bricks. Only a few can transcend the art of “building,” and cull something from the plastic pieces that no living person could have dreamed possible.
I’m in awe of the imagination and skill required to dream up something like this and then make it a reality. I hesitate to even call it a “build,” because it’s more like a sculpture. If you think you have any skills at all as a LEGO builder, check out the work of this dude that goes by the moniker “Legohaulic.” His stuff is on a level entirely its own; be warned it will make amateur LEGO enthusiasts like me and thee want to kill ourselves.
He calls this little number “Defense Beacon,” and he concocted a teensy bit of a story to go with it. Well, not such a story as a scenario, about an explorer who crash lands on an alien world and stumbles upon this massive platform that looks like a Borg omega symbol topped with a DNA-like helix. I’m assuming the helix is the signal sent by the titular beacon, though I could be way off.
Remarkably, even though many of these tiny square pieces look like they’re simply piled on willy-nilly, Legohaulic says that every piece you see here is, in fact, attached. If you don’t believe it, zoom in on this picture (or some of his additional photos) and see for yourself.
