Want to feel old(ish)?
How about thinking of the fact that Harry Potter is turning 36 on the 31st? Yup, one of arguably the most loved wizards of our time, Harry James Potter was born on July 31, 1980. So, this year, he passes that mid-30s line…
But who cares about age?
Age and feels aside, the world of Harry Potter wouldn’t be complete without wands. Who needs lightsabers if you have wands? Ooopsss. Just kidding.
But you do have to admit that having your own wand collection is something to aspire for. It’s like collecting the sonic screwdrivers of all the Doctors. But first, you need to know your wands.
It’s not like you can just pick out the first wand you see on the shelf and say “This is it”! It’s something more special than that.
Every single wand is unique and will depend its character on the particular tree and magical creature from which it derives its materials. Moreover, each wand, from the moment it finds its ideal owner, will begin to learn from and teach its human partner.
That being said, the wands in the Harry Potter universe come various shapes and sizes – straight, curved, “curly”, etc. – and all of them specially fitted to their owner.
How well do you know your wands? Here’s a Harry Potter wand guide, which shows the most iconic wands in J.K. Rowling’s world. You will surely recognize some of them, but you may have had a different idea of how the others look. Check them out yourself.
So, not counting Harry’s wands, which one would you choose if that were even remotely possible?
