Oh, Ubisoft. You big ol’ tease, you.
Having enjoyed loads of viral success with past Assassin’s Creed marketing campaigns, it’s no surprise that Ubisoft is kicking up the PR dust by once again asking fans to take part in spreading the word by helping to “unlock” the new game’s latest trailer.
Sure… Make us do everything…
Assassin’s Creed III‘s new protagonist Connor Kenway ain’t no smooth-talking Italian playboy. This dude is a full-on hunter/killer, capable of stalking from the shadows and striking with lethal precision.
At least, that’s the impression one gets from watching this way-too-short teaser for the game’s new trailer, which promises to show off actual game footage for the first time. (The first trailer was an entirely CGI affair.) You may also note a little splash-screen near the beginning for “AnvilNext,” Ubisoft’s next-gen iteration of the Anvil game engine that all of the Assassin’s Creed games have been built on.
To help unlock the full trailer, there are several of hoops we mindless monkeys have to jump through — all of which can be found over at this Facebook page. From there, you can share, tweet, and post, so Ubisoft will hand over the full-length video. It’s all kind of silly, really, since we all know Ubisoft is going to release the full trailer whether you and I help out or not. All we can really contribute is bringing it about a little faster.
Which… actually… sounds like a pretty good idea. I mean, have you watched the teaser yet? How can you not want to see the whole thing right now?
