Who Wants to Be in Star Wars: Episode VII? Here's What You Need to Do!

If you don’t, either there’s something wrong with you or you just don’t like Star Wars. (Some would argue that the latter is equivalent to the former…)

If you do, then here’s your chance to actually be in the movie. Yesterday, director J.J. Abrams announced the creation of Star Wars: Force for Change, a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm in collaboration with Bad Robot dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems.

So yeah, it’s not all fun and games – the Force can be used in real life for real good.

The first campaign of Star Wars: Force for Change is geared at United Nations Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF) Innovation Labs and its innovative programs that are benefitting the world’s most vulnerable children. The campaign aims to raise funds and awareness, and fans can help directly.

By visiting omaze, where you can donate anywhere from $10 (Supporter) to $50,000 (Jedi Grand Master of the Order) – and various other amounts (and labels) in between. For each donation you make, you gain a certain number of entries to the contest as well.

Here’s the clincher: The Star Wars: Force for Change Grand Prize includes:

  • Airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest
  • Behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams
  • Winner will have the opportunity to meet members of the cast
  • Winner and their guest will then be transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII

If you have ever roleplayed as a Star Wars character and wished that it were for real, then this is your chance to make that dream come true. Even better, you’ll be contributing to a good cause.
