How Star Wars Characters Look in Vectors
So did you like the “surprise” that Lucasfilm had in store for the legions of Star Wars fans all over the world? I don’t know about you, but it seemed that it was a disappointment to some people. While everyone is looking forward to the Blu-Ray set, September the 16th is still a far way off.
While you wait, why not try to do something aside from twiddle your thumbs? Maybe the art of Jessica Finson can help you with that. This DeviantArtist has made a name for herself for her awesome vector art, and among her work are some of the most known characters from – you guessed it – Star Wars.
A quickie about vector art/graphics – this technique makes use of the basics of geometry – points, lines, curves, and polygons. These geometric elements are used to represent images, and you are only bound by your imagination and skill. The great thing about vector art is that you can magnify your work much more than you can if your art were made using raster graphics (which pixelate after being magnified so many times).
In any case, vectors or not, Jessica has gained praise from her work, and it is easy to see why.
One look at those works of art, and you know you’re looking at the works of a master. One would even think they’re painted using some other material like water color, don’t you agree? I might be under-appreciating the images, but those lightsabers just fascinate me to no end…
