Who Needs More USB Ports?

I sometimes do, especially when I am using my trusty old MSI Wind. It has three USB ports, but there are times (not very often) when I find myself wishing I had an extra port or two. Never – not even in my frustrated moments – have I found myself needing or wanting 80 USB ports, though!

I don’t think that I know anyone – not even the geekiest and most gadget crazy person I know – who would need 80 USB ports at a single time, do you? I guess the people at Thanko might have bought one gadget too many. They’re the ones promoting this board with 80 USB ports, and they seem really excited about it.

As you can see from the picture, it does look like you have an army of shiny little things in a sea of red. It can look impressive, I have to admit, but impressive does not mean useful. Think about it, this board can accommodate 80 devices with USB connectivity but it doesn’t do anything but charge the devices. It does not even have the capability to store data! Sure, it has some features such as adjustable voltage (for different devices, obviously), but for almost $200, it’s just too steep!

Think what you can buy for $200. Even if I had that money to burn, I definitely won’t waste it on this thing. Is there anyone here who can change my mind? Maybe I am missing out on an important detail here.
