Your First Look at LEGO Iron Man 3
The good folks at LEGO sent over a collection of awesome images from their Iron Man 3-themed sets. They feature several new Minifigures and three sets based on scenes from the movie. We also have LEGO-ized versions of the official movie posters!

The good folks at LEGO sent over a collection of awesome images from their Iron Man 3-themed sets. They feature several new Minifigures and three sets based on scenes from the movie. We also have LEGO-ized versions of the official movie posters!
First, let’s look at those three new LEGO sets, being made in support of Iron Man 3. (Beware of potential spoilers for the movie.) After the sets, we’ll take a closer look at the entire Minifigure lineup. Click on any image to zoom in.
Here’s the “Extremis Sea Port Battle,” LEGO set #76006. It comes with a speedboat and Minifigures Adrian Killian (Guy Pierce’s character), Iron Man, and War Machine (pre-Iron Patriot paint job, apparently).
“Malibu Mansion Attack,” set #76007 is no doubt the scene we saw a lot of in the last trailer. It’s the biggest of the three sets, and includes a part of Tony’s seaside home in L.A., a Mandarin helicopter, one of Tony’s helper robots from his lab, and Minifigures Iron Man, Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, Extremis Soldier, and the Mandarin.
Finally, there’s the most spoilery of the sets, “Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown,” set #76008. It features some kind of mini tank/gun platform/motorized thing, along with Iron Man and a sleeveless Mandarin.
Now let’s get up close and personal with those Minifigures. Guy Pierce’s Adrian Killian looks almost freakishly pale:
Love the rocket hands and feet on Iron Man:
I guess this means we won’t be getting a LEGO Iron Patriot:
Making her LEGO debut is Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts, who’s given a somewhat comical “figure-8” appearance thanks to darkened edges around her waist:
And here’s Tony Stark in the tracksuit-type outfit he wears under his new Extremis-powered armor:
This poor nameless soul is just a soldier who’s been given the Extremis serum. Based on his pallor, I’m guessing it’s not going real well for him. He kind of makes me think of Edward Scissorhands, sans scissors:
And here’s an angry-looking Mandarin in his full regalia. Wish they could have printed some rings on his little claws. The Mandarin’s just not the Mandarin without his rings:
Without the full outfit, doesn’t the Mandarin just look like LEGO Hagrid with a change of clothes?
I’d love to see some Minifigures of all the other Iron Man armors we’ll get to see in IM3. Word has it there are some 42 of them in all! In the meantime, I leave you with these awesome remakes of the film’s movie posters using LEGO Minifigures.
The LEGO Iron Man 3 sets should be in stores right now.
