House of the Dragon

House of the Dragon is the first spinoff to be released, set in the Game of Thrones world. Season one was released on HBO on August 21, 2022.

Based on the book Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin, House of the Dragon is set around 200 years prior to Game of Thrones and focuses heavily on the Targaryen family.

The show stars Paddy Consadine as King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenrya Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Queen Alicent Hightower.

The series received high praise from critics scoring an approval rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The second season of House of the Dragon is scheduled to release in 2024.
